Microsoft PowerPoint

PowerPoint presentations have become an important way for individuals and departments at New Mexico State University to present information about events, programs and other subjects. It is important to ensure that the presentations carry NMSU’s distinctive brand impression. PowerPoint presentations should be designed following the same recommendations for logo use, color, photography and typeface as used in print and Web pages. Here are instructions for saving the PowerPoint Template on a PC or Mac. Saving it in this location will make it easier to find when you create your PowerPoint presentation.

After downloading any of these Microsoft Publisher templates, please check the colors against the color palette, as the colors may have been affected by the downloading process.

PC:

Mac:

Save in: My Computer > Local Disk (C:) > Program Files > Microsoft Office > Templates > Presentation Designs
Save “NMSU branding.pot” in the Presentation Designs folder.

Open PowerPoint and either begin a new presentation or open a presentation you would like to apply the template to.
Go to: Format > Slide Design
The Slide Design Box will appear the right of the screen. Click on “Browse” located at the bottom of the box. Click on the Presentation Designs folder and select “NMSU branding.pot”. Click Apply.

Save in: Macintosh HD > Applications > Microsoft Office > Templates > My Templates
Save “NMSU branding.pot” in the My Templates folder.

Open PowerPoint and either begin a new presentation or open a presentation you would like to apply the template to.
Go to: Format > Slide Design
Find the My Templates folder and select “NMSU branding.pot”. Click Apply.
