Websites
Our web presence is NMSU’s primary communication channel and the front door to our marketing efforts to attract potential students, employees, and stakeholders across the world.
NMSU’s websites provide a platform to showcase our university’s best qualities and highlight how we serve the diverse needs of the state and broader community. Our web presence is a strategic asset that carries influence and provides global access to all aspects of the university.

Trust and Credibility: Consistent branding fosters trust and conveys professionalism, reassuring visitors that the university is reputable and reliable.
-
Engagement: Effective branding can enhance user engagement by creating an emotional connection with visitors, encouraging them to explore more about the university.
-
Navigation and Usability: A cohesive brand helps guide design choices, leading to a more intuitive and user-friendly experience for visitors.
-
Attracting Talent: A well-branded website can attract prospective students and faculty, highlighting the university's values, culture, and unique offerings.
-
Strategic Communication: Branding helps ensure that all messaging aligns with the university’s mission and vision, reinforcing key messages across various platforms.
In essence, strong branding on campus websites enhances visibility, engagement, and overall user experience, ultimately supporting the university's goals and mission.
Restrictions and Requirements
- All offical NMSU departments and programs should utilize NMSU branded web templates.
- All public-facing website domain names (e.g., name.nmsu.edu) should utilize Cascade CMS. If you require web hosting from a third party provider off campus, web design and templates need to be approved by MarComm before a nmsu.edu domain name will be released for use.
