Athletics Marks
The Athletics Deparment uses its own set of primary, secondary and cultural marks. NMSU Marketing and Communications manages these protected marks through a licensing program administered by the Collegiate Licensing Company (CLC).

The mark displayed above is the primary athletics logo. The athletics brand includes two versions of the primary logo commonly known as “NM State Pete.” NM State Athletics is most often represented with this mark. The primary athletics logo is available in full color, and black and white. Please note, other units and departments across campus should use these athletics marks sparingly because of these marks' strong connection to athletics rather than the institution as a whole.
General Restrictions & Merchandise Requirements
All athletics marks cannot be stretched or stretched or squeezed to accommodate a design or a space limitation or altered in any way including drop shadows, outlines, unauthorized colors, addition of text or graphics, etc.
When used in merchandise, all official NM State athletics marks should display the trademark symbol, “TM”.
Athletics Crimson vs.
Aggie Crimson
The NM State athletics brand features a slightly different version of crimson compared to our university brand. NM State Athletics chooses to use this crimson because it matches the color of our Under Armour uniforms. This allows athletics to give a reliable look and feel to marketing materials, uniforms, and the athletics brand across the board.

Secondary Marks
In addition to “NM State Pete” there are two secondary marks that add variety while remaining consistent with athletics brand: The “Pete Head” and “Stacked NM State” logo using the Rotis font. The "Pete Head" includes two variations, one including the "NM State" letters in the Aggie Alphabet font.
The “Pete Head” is available in full color, and black and white.

Athletics Wordmarks
The NM State brand features three wordmarks. The first two use a variation of the "Aggie Font" that aligns with the primary athletics logo. The first mark highlights our university name, "New Mexico State," and the second mark identifies us by our moniker, "Aggies." One color options of these logos are available in black, crimson, and white.
Our third mark is a simplistic version of our shortened name, "NM State" in the Rotis font. Fonts that look "close" to the font used to create these marks are unacceptable.

Cultural & Other Athlectics Marks
The NM State athletics brand features a variety of cultural and other athletics marks.
Crossed Pistols
The crossed pistols logo evolved from our mascot's name, Pistol Pete.
Restrictions: The crossed pistols must be used on merchandise or graphics with an identifying logo, such as one of the three athletics wordmarks.
